I was doing a 7-11-style drug-trafficking business. We were always open and whatever you want, we have. I made up 1001 reasons and plans— always thinking I was too smart to get arrested.

Drugs made me feel brave and made me think I was in control. It fed that selfish mindset that if you do not buy, I do not get to sell.

But that feeling of being in control was not real. I was constantly suffering from the paranoia of being caught. 

Now, I understand that the stubbornness and determination I had to chase the high could have been and is now being used to build the good life I have.
