I was not simply meeting demand — I was perpetuating harm.

Multiple incarcerations, drug trafficking and years of violence defined the man I was. I sold drugs to feed my own addiction, blind to the destruction I was sowing in my life and in the lives of others. 

Even after graduating from Singapore Management University with majors in Psychology & Sociology, I fell back into drugs and found myself in the Drug Rehabilitation Centre (DRC).

After DRC, I had to trust myself enough to believe I could be more than my worst decisions. I had to embrace failure as my teacher, silence the naysayers with my actions, and work relentlessly to rebuild my life on a foundation of purpose. 

Today, as an Assistant Senior Social Worker at Lakeside Family Services, I walk alongside individuals navigating the same darkness I once knew. I run programmes that prepare inmates for reintegration and help ex-offenders secure dignified employment. I give back — because transformation kept to oneself remains fragile.
