Weighing the Deals: Azlinda & Hairi

I was selling drugs to sustain my own addiction and fund my studies, without fully understanding the damage I was causing. Hairi was one of my customers and I was the one who introduced him to meth in 2010. This was before we were in a relationship. 

That decision had serious consequences. Hairi lost almost everything he had.  

He lost his job where he had been working for nearly eight years due to his addiction.  

He sold off his car and one of his two bikes just to sustain his drug abuse while trying to cope with family responsibilities. 

Most painfully, he lost his marriage and was separated from his two sons. He has not seen his sons since his arrest in 2015. 

Those difficult experiences became our turning points, moments that forced us to confront the reality of our actions and the harm caused to ourselves and the people around us. 

Now, we have become anti-drug advocates and started our own non-profit organisation, Ultimate Friends SG, to help others.  

We want to dedicate our lives to supporting individuals in recovery, especially those in community-based programmes and mandatory aftercare schemes.
